If you wear a 10, an 11 or a 4, you've probably learned to check the size menu before you let yourself want a ring. Here's what that menu never tells you: about one in six rings we sell is a 4, a 10 or an 11. Your fingers are fine. Blame the menu.
Every Oomiay ring design is made in sizes 4 to 11, from the quiet clusters to the rings with crystals swinging off them. Here's how unusual that is, and how to shop well at either end of the chart.
Where the size menu stops
This October we went through the public product listings of five well-known jewelry brands and counted which sizes each ring is offered in. We're leaving the names out. The pattern is the point.
| Public listings, October 2026 | Rings | Made in a 4 | Made in a 10 | Made in an 11 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A popular California brand | 68 | 10 | 3 | 0 |
| A popular Spanish brand | 206 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| A London brand | 125 | 123 | 0 | 0 |
| A second British brand | 94 | 45 | 0 | 0 |
| A second London brand | 98 | 16 | 14 | 5 |
| Oomiay | 178 | 178 | 178 | 178 |
Across about 590 rings at those five brands, 17 came in a size 10. Five came in an 11. The Spanish brand's own size chart tops out at a US 8.
The small end is patchy: nearly every ring at one London brand comes in a 4, about half at the second British brand, and almost none at the Spanish one. The big end barely exists anywhere. Ranges get built around the middle of the chart, and the ends get left off.

Your size is more common than the menu thinks
Here's how our own ring sales split at the ends of the chart, from our orders between October 2025 and October 2026:
- Sizes 10 and 11: about 1 in 7 rings.
- Size 4: a little under 4 in 100.
- All three together: about one in six.
Put another way, a menu that stops at 9 would turn away about one in seven of the people who buy rings from us. That's a lot of people being told, one size menu at a time, that their hands are the issue.
They aren't. A size 10 sits about 19.8 mm across the inside, a 4 about 14.9 mm. Both are ordinary numbers on a standard size chart. The only unusual thing is how rarely they get made.
Every design, sizes 4 to 11
Our way is simple: every ring design we make comes in all eight sizes, 4 through 11. The playful ones, the colorful ones and the dark ones get the same run as the simple ones.
Succulent in rose gold ($69) is our most-reviewed design in its rosiest version: an olive-grey pear crystal with a little cluster of pink and white crystals at its shoulder. It comes in your 4.
Moondust ($95) is a star crystal in a smooth bezel on a chunky, rounded band, with a pavé crescent moon on either side. It's solid .925 sterling silver, finished in rhodium like fine white gold, and it comes in your 10.
“A lot of rings don’t come in size 4 so I was pleasantly surprised to see they do.”

Our Black Gold one is Dove ($79): a mystic topaz pear with a small heart and two tiny rounds clustered beside it on a black band, shifting between green, blue and violet as your hand moves. If your taste runs dark, it comes in your 11.

Three very different rings. The same eight sizes.
Shopping for a size 10 ring (or an 11)
At the top of the chart, fit comes down to three things.
- Check the knuckle. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, the ring has to clear it first. Our guide to measuring your ring size at home walks you through it.
- Wide bands fit snug. A chunky band like Moondust covers more of your finger, so it feels tighter than a slim one in the same size.
- Pick tops with some width. On a 10, the same 8 mm stone covers less of your finger than it does on a 6. If you want the ring to read as a statement, go for a cluster or a chunky band. If you love delicate, stack two.
Blame the size menu, not your hands.
Shopping for a size 4 ring
- Watch tall tops. On a slim finger, a tall stone has more room to roll toward your palm. Low clusters that spread along the band stay put.
- Enjoy the scale. On a 4, every stone covers more of your finger, so a mid-size ring looks generous. You get the full effect of a design without a big ring.
Between sizes, and the safety net
Our everyday rings come in whole sizes. If you measure between two, go up, especially for a wide band. And if a ring arrives and doesn't sit right, size exchanges are free within 30 days of delivery, tag still on (return policy).
Pick the ring first
You've spent long enough shopping around your size, scrolling past the rings you wanted to find the ones that happen to come in a 10. Do it the other way round.

Questions about size 10 and size 4 rings
Is size 10 a big ring size?
It's on the larger side of the standard women's chart, but it's far from rare. Sizes 10 and 11 are about 1 in 7 of the rings we sell, and a size 10 measures about 19.8 mm across the inside.
Is a size 4 ring small?
Yes, 4 is the small end of most women's charts, about 14.9 mm across the inside. It's the smallest size we make, and every Oomiay ring design comes in it.
What is the average ring size for women?
In our orders, 7 is the most common size, and 6, 7 and 8 together cover about 6 in 10 rings.
Does Oomiay make half sizes?
Our everyday rings come in whole sizes, 4 to 11, so go up if you're between two. Oomiay Fine, our 14K solid gold line, comes in half sizes from 4 to 11.5.
Can I exchange a ring for a different size?
Yes. Size exchanges are free within 30 days of delivery, as long as the tag is still on.
