A tall stack of colorful Oomiay rings

The Fun Rings Come in Size 4. And Size 11.

The fun part should be choosing the ring. Not discovering whether it comes in your size.

Maybe it's a dangling crystal, a peculiar curve, or an olive-grey heart next to a bright white stone. You find a ring you really like, picture it on your hand, and open the size menu. If the options run from 6 to 9, that lovely design has just become irrelevant to anyone who wears a 4 or an 11.

A ring's best feature shouldn't be available only in the middle of the size chart.

At Oomiay, we make our new ring styles in sizes 4 through 11 right from the start. Not just the simple bands, or a few bestsellers that earn an extended range later. The interesting shapes, unusual colors and little moving details come in the full run, too. We think that's how it should work.

The full size range is part of the plan

A ring offered in sizes 7, 8 and 9 might be perfect if you wear a 7. If you're shopping for a 4 or an 11, it's not really a choice at all. Even a 5-to-10 range still misses someone. That's why we don't treat the outer sizes as a bonus to add if a design becomes popular. They're part of the decision to make it in the first place.

Take Spell. The band curves around your finger while bezel-set crystal charms hang below it. It is unmistakably a design someone had an idea about, and its current size selector includes both 4 and 11, with every whole size between them. The design is the same appealing idea at either end of the menu.

Or take Narnia. A tall kite-shaped crystal sits under a little crown of white stones, with all the drama of a statement ring on a slim gold band. It comes in every whole size from 4 through 11, too. That's a completely different mood from Spell, and exactly why a broad size range is more useful when it comes with real variety.

High Card goes somewhere else again: a linked band with pavé detail and a bezel-set heart charm. It's a ring for someone who likes a little movement and a more built-up silhouette. It currently lists sizes 4 through 11. A row of dangling charms, a tall kite-shaped stone, a pavé-and-heart silhouette. They don't look remotely interchangeable. We don't want the size selector to make the decision for you.

A size can mean more than one thing

A size 4 might be someone's ring-finger size or the pinky-ring size they've been hunting for. A size 11 might be for an index finger, a thumb or a ring finger. The same person might wear several sizes on different fingers. So this isn't simply a story about smaller and larger hands. It's a story about having more ways to wear the design you actually picked.

The difference gets interesting when you start styling. Maybe you want Spell on your middle finger and a smaller band on your pinky. Maybe High Card looks best alone on your index finger. A size range that reaches both ends gives you more ways to make those choices, rather than sending you back to the catalog every time you change fingers.

Size isn't a styling personality, either. You might wear one ring with a little movement, build a whole stack, or change your mind next week. We want to give you those choices. The number just has to do its job: tell you what fits.

And of course the ring still has to be worth choosing. Every size gets the same Heavy Gold+ finish and the same hand-set crystals. A wider range wouldn't mean much if the design and quality weren't there in the first place.

A ring's best feature shouldn't be available only in the middle of the size chart.

Choose the design. Then get the fit right.

There is one unromantic step we genuinely recommend: measure the finger you plan to wear it on and consult the ring size chart. A ring that slides comfortably onto your middle finger may not fit your index finger, and guessing a size based on what someone else wears isn't much help.

That's the order we like: find the ring you want to wear, decide where you want to wear it, and pick the fit. Not the other way around.

So go ahead and fall for the weird one, the sparkly one, the one with charms. It comes in your size. Shop rings in sizes 4 to 11.
